Attracting Talented South Americans to BlueCo Multiclub Network
......consider adding a club from Spain or Portugal
Welcome to the 2024/2025 Summer Transfer Window!
In this discussion, we'll analyze key targets for the BlueCo Multiclub Network, focusing on the challenges faced by the "Racing Strasbourg to Chelsea pathway".
This pathway refers to the strategy of signing targets who will play for Racing Strasbourg in France before joining Chelsea in England a year or two later. As a dedicated supporter of BlueCo's leadership, I aim to constructively improve the Multiclub Network, guiding them towards excellence rather than criticizing their efforts.
Recent rejections of the Strasbourg-Chelsea pathway include:
1. Arsen Zakharyan opted for Real Sociedad
2. Valentín Barco chosen Brighton
3. Matheus Franca selected Crystal Palace
4. Elye Wahi declined the BlueCo network offer
5. Pedro Lima abandoned the agreement to join Wolves
These decisions from players suggest that the Strasbourg-Chelsea pathway may not be attractive, particularly to South American players, due to language barriers, cultural differences, and other factors.
To address this, BlueCo leaders should urgently consider adding a club from Spain or Portugal to the Multiclub Network. Meanwhile, the Strasbourg-Chelsea pathway should focus on talents from France, Belgium, and Africa, where successful signings like Delani Bakwa, Papa Daoud Diong, and Abakar Sylla have come from.
Many French clubs have successfully adopted this recruiting strategy from Ligue 1, as seen in PSG's signings of Kylian Mbappe and Barcola from Monaco and Lyon respectively.
By understanding and adapting to this, we can attract young South American talents and provide a clear pathway to Chelsea's first team, rather than missing out on top talent. Offering pathway options beyond the France-to-England route will give the players more choices, making the network more appealing.
